Hosting an Airbnb can be a lot more work than advertised. We all want those five-star reviews that mention how "seamless" everything was, but "seamless" usually requires a lot of behind-the-scenes hustle.
When we stepped in to help our client with their rental property, our goal wasn't just to make the home look pretty for the listing photos. We wanted to build a system that supports the team it takes to run a rental. Whether it is the cleaning crew rushing through a tight turnover or the owner trying to inventory supplies from their phone, every bin and basket was placed with ease and speed in mind
Today let’s look at how we turned this property into a functional masterpiece for everyone involved. There are great tips in here even if you simply want your own home to be run like a fine-tuned machine!

The Kitchen: Where Intuition Meets Organization
If you have ever stayed in a rental and spent twenty minutes searching for the coffee maker or a pizza cutter, you know the frustration of a poorly mapped kitchen. For this property, we wanted the mental load for the guest to be zero. We started by using clear, elegant labeling on the exterior of the cabinets so that guests can find the utensils or plates without playing a game of hide and seek with the cabinetry.
Inside the drawers, we used bamboo dividers with inserts to give every item a "home". Instead of just hoping people put items away correctly, we created intentional, organized zones, again, using labels inside the drawers to act as a map.
The Gadget Drawers

These bamboo dividers shown here are a staple for us because they are so versatile, but they do come in different sizes, so be sure to measure your drawer depth and width first! You can find all the various sizes we use right HERE*.
However, we didn't stop at just dividing the space; we added labels to make sure those tools actually return to their homes. This isn't just a win for the guests who are trying to whip up breakfast; it allows the cleaning crew to see at a glance if a specific utensil is missing. It is the perfect way to keep the guest experience seamless and the turnover easy for everyone involved.
The Kitchen Linen Drawer
For larger categories like dish towels and dish cloths, we went with standard bamboo dividers without the smaller cross-section inserts. This provides a clean, open layout that accommodates the bulkier fold of the linens while still keeping them strictly separated.
These dividers come in various sizes and colors, such as white, black, or natural bamboo, to match any cabinet style. The most common size is linked HERE*.
Intuitive Layouts & Pretty Labels
For the rest of the space, we focused on placing items exactly where they make sense.
We kept glassware near the sink and coffee filters right by the brewer; it is the difference between a guest feeling at home and feeling like they are in a confusing escape room!
As stated earlier, to make things even easier, we labeled the outside of the cabinets with a pretty, clear label featuring gold lettering. This isn't just about being "extra" with the decor; it is about communicating clearly so your guests never have guess where things are. The gold tape we used with our P-Touch label maker* can be found HERE.*
The Airbnb Owner’s Closet: Your Secret Command Center
For this property, we knew the mental load of inventory management could be a full-time job if we didn't simplify it. Our goal was to create a space where the owner or cleaning crew could walk in, glance at the shelves, and quickly know exactly what needs to be ordered.
Kitchen Backstock

In this specific closet, we added a 24" wide black wire shelf from Target that barely fit into the space, but added much needed shelving without having to install something. Then added our favorite affordable options are the Multi-Purpose Bins from Walmart. They come in both large* and narrow* sizes.
By decanting items like coffee pods, creamer, and tea into these labeled containers, we eliminated the bulky, mismatched cardboard boxes that usually eat up shelf space. Since the items that needed stored were smaller we went with the narrow Multi-Purpose Bin option which allowed us to get nine bins on the small shelf!

Cleaning Closet
Just like the kitchen backstock closet, this cleaning closet used the 36" wide black wire shelf from Target. However, for this space, we opted for the large* size of those Walmart multiple-purpose bins to handle the bulkier cleaning supplies and pool chemicals. It creates a cohesive, high-functioning look even in a utility space!
The Cleaning Caddy: We didn't just shove cleaning supplies onto a shelf; we built a grab-and-go caddy. The cleaning crew can snag the "Cleaners" bin or the white caddy and move through the house without retracing their steps for a forgotten bottle of glass cleaner.
Because these bins are clear, the owner doesn't have to dig to the back of a dark closet to see if they are low on trash bags or pool supplies. If the "Hand Soap" bin looks low, it goes on the grocery list immediately.

The Secret Weapon: A Custom Supplies Guide
To take the guesswork out of the turnover entirely, the property owner created a laminated Supplies Guide. It breaks down exactly how many coffee pods, tea bags, and travel-sized toiletries should be stocked in each zone of the house.
Whether the crew is prepping the main coffee bar or checking the pool house, they have a clear number to hit. It ensures every guest has the same five-star experience and helps the owner keep their inventory costs in check.
The Airbnb Owner’s Linen Closet: A Cleaning Crew’s Dream
We used these transparent Y-Weave Baskets from Target to categorize bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Not only does this keep stacks from toppling over, but it ensures your extra stock stays clean, and exactly where it belongs. To make it foolproof, we also added these white clip lables* so the team knows exactly where to restock each size without a second thought.

Sheets
Since this property has a variety of bed sizes, we separated every single set by size. Even breaking it down between fitted and flat sheets. This means the cleaning crew can grab exactly what they need for a specific bedroom without unfolding three different sets of sheets to find the right one.
We used these affordable crates from Walmart to make it easy to "toss and go" as soon as the laundry is done. Nope, they do NOT have to fold a fitted sheet.

In addition, we labeled all the tags; since we all know most sheets do not have sizes printed on them, we took the guesswork out of the equation by using this fabric Sharpie* and these fabric stickers*. It is a small step that saves a massive amount of time during a tight turnover!
The Grab and Go Toiletries

Below the linens, we organized the guest bathroom backstock. Shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are decanted into clear bins so the team can refill the shower dispensers in seconds.
We used the large* size of those Walmart multiple-purpose bins that we love to use and that are super affordable.
When you organize a space this way, clear bins and easy to toss and go containers, it reduces the physical and mental fatigue leaving more time for the important things. Create a system that allows for a quick turn around makes it easier for your whole team.
